How Sawyers Drums started
The Future of Rock
During the COVID-19 lockdowns, an unlikely rockstar emerged—not on stage, but in the back of a warehouse. Meet Sawyer, an 11-year-old with a passion for pounding rhythms and shredding riffs. His journey as a young entrepreneur didn’t start with a record deal, but with a need: a way to drum without driving his family and neighbors crazy.
Where It All Began
Sawyer’s parents own a business specializing in sound-dampening products, and when schools shut down, he spent his days at their warehouse. A die-hard fan of Metallica and AC/DC, Sawyer loved drumming, but his thunderous practice sessions became a challenge for his family. Instead of giving up, he turned to the materials in the warehouse, experimenting with rubber, silicone, and foam to create sound-dampening drum pads.
Sawyer Drums Is Born
After months of trial and error, Sawyer developed a line of drum pads that reduced noise without sacrificing feel. He called them “Sound Kill” and, with his parents’ help, turned his invention into a business. Together, they launched SAWYER DRUMS, providing drummers with tools to practice loud and play quiet.
The Drummer and the Dream
Sawyer is more than the face of the brand—he’s a passionate musician who plays drums, bass, and guitar, inspired by legends like Lars Ulrich and Angus Young. When he’s not innovating for drummers, Sawyer shares his musical adventures on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, building a community of fans and musicians.
The Sound Kill Revolution
At the heart of Sawyer Drums is the Sound Kill |On The GO Practice Drum Pad, a patent-pending design that drastically reduces noise while preserving the feel of real drumheads. It’s a game-changer for drummers practicing in apartments, r late at night and on the go, born from Sawyer’s vision and creativity.
